Clacal blood marks on a shed

garweft Jan 11, 2006 03:16 AM

I was wondering if anyone has any input in the rumor that you can sex snakes by looking for blood spots on the cloacal region of a shed.

I have what I think is a male amel that I have not probed yet. During its last shed however I saw two little paired blood spots on the cloacal region, which some people have called musk gland blood clots. However other people have said that their males have these two.

So what do you think?

I have noticed such markings in Hope, my female snow. Although I am not sure I trust the vet since they would not let me watch.
