unfortunately they are listed as well as the gilas as a big no-no, hopefully this will change but I fear it will be long after Im dead and gone. A pity really, as I seriously doubt that illegal beadeds would suddenly start appearing. If the game agencies were to really consider the facts of the matter I think they would see that; going to Mexico (lots of $) coupled with the difficulty of finding even one of these animals in the wild(VERY difficult)along with the logistics of getting there and back again safely(certainly possible, but hardly worth it), will most certainly overshadow anyone trying to poach one and bring it back to the US. I mean, its easier, safer, and FAR cheaper to buy a captive bred animal than risk going to prison for a lizard. There are plenty of captive bred, AZA listed beadeds for those who want one. I would challenge these folks to prove what they are saying about "laundering illegally collected beadeds" through the pet trade. How many people have been busted coming back up through Douglas, Nogales, or Organ Pipe with illegal beadeds in the last year, the last 5 years? I know they catch the odd person with a Gila but again, its probably few and far between. Wes could possibly find something in his archives about this topic.
