Hello Indigo Fans!

I am a long-time snake enthusiast with dreams of Drymarchon.
After many years of work with kings, corns, balls, etc., my thoughts return to Eastern Indigos. Any advice on advanced planning for getting involved would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
John DeMelas

Go to Doug Taylor's indigo site for information on different sub-species. It appears that Eastern is now its own species DRYMARCHON COUPERI. If you monitor classifieds frequently you may catch available snakes when they first appear. Drymarchon: bet you can't keep one.

When did it become a species?

Didn't you mean, bet you can't keep Just one. Kinda like the old lays potato chip commercial?

Doug Taylor's indigo site is excellent.

If the Eastern is now its own species (D. Couperi) what will that do to its legal status? If the law says "D. Corias Couperi", then what is the status of the new species?

"Drymarchon: Bet you can't keep just one!"

I like it - Mind if I use it for my sig?

Welcome and enjoy. Drys are the most awesome snake around! Like the other post says, "bet you cant keep one" that is very true! Take care and hope you aquire some beautiful critters. I had eggs last week and am keeping my fingers crossed that they have a successful hatch.

Thanks and good luck with those eggs.
Been through the waiting-on-eggs thing several times.
Suspense and anticipation!
