What a great looking snake. Those snakes certainly are amazing looking look like carved ivory.
I have been eyeing them but have read some calm and some stay hyper biters all through their lives granted as babies snakes as a whole normal to be hyper.
How do you find yours tempermeant wise? They certainly stand out in a tank, etc with a black background and lots dark wood climbing branches which is my plan.

Thanks

Mine is super hyper. She is fast and loves to move around. She is not aggressive at all though. Has only tried to bite me once and that was it.

Thats not bad at all. Hyper is no big deal lots babies are but a baby that has only bitten once is pretty good as that again is common with any snake . I looked into them still might get one and one of the people that I spoke to who has 2 adults still gets bitten .

I have a hatchling and he couldn't have a better temperment. He's a bit shy in is tank, but when held, he's amazingly mellow and calm. He actually is easier to handle than my corn! I realize that is sorta unusual for a hatchling, let alone one of this species...but you just gotta look for em...I've handled plenty of sweethearts out there! I love them!

Very nice looking snake. But you have to admit thats rare such a mellow Texas rat . After reading these 2 posts I imagine some might be calmer than I originally thought they could be.

I have an adult pair that where "shy" as babies. Now the female may try to tag you if you just throw your hand at her in the cage, but if you give her a chance she can easily be picked up and wont bite once in your hands. The male just tries his best to avoid you when you open the cage, but same thing, he wont bite. Neither one of mine seem to think it's "cool" to be handled, though. Most of the babies they've produced were quite deffensive as babies, calming down after awhile. They are nice looking animals.

cheers.... JFD
