This may be a dumb question, but when you warm the frozen feeder up in boiled water, it shouldn't smell bad, right?

Is that the right way to heat it up? Last time I tried this I don't remember it smelling that bad....

what i do is put it in a zip lock bag and set it out somewhere and let it thaw by itself until its room temp. then its ready to be eaten

Only time i ever had one smell bad was when i put it under the lid of the heat lamp and forgot about it for ten minutes. The zip lock bag thing works, a glass that the ol lady wont miss with luke-warm water will work, but boiling water sounds a bit extreme, especialy for a pinky. skinner

If it's only one pinkie, you shouldn't even be able to smell it.

Lol...it's a live and learn experience. I defrosted a small rat once, and it got a little TOO defrosted, and when the snake tried to swallow it, the stomach wall gave way....and...well....you can imagine what happened....(gack) I feed fresh killed as a rule usually, and now I know why. Defrosting is icky.
