i have a dragon that i got back in the begining of june. the past 3 days he has been hiding in his little hide and hasnt eaten a thing except for very few of his pellets. im guessing he is in burmation, but i didnt think he was old enough. also he was, before he went into hiding, was walking along the side of the cage and he started to get a darker beard and the tip of his tail would go darker and one time pitch black. im just wondering i thank you for all reply.
thanks kyle

My dragons been doing the same thing. He barley eats anything and hides in a den all day. I felt him and he was very cold. I thought he was to young to brumate but it seems like he is. i got him in August.
Thanks for any help.

Could be possible that he is going into burmation. Even if he isnt if there is a cold front beardies will lay low for a few days till temps rise back up. I have young dragons that want to go into burmation. Its a natural thing. As far as the beard goes thats perfectly normal. For the tail i would double check to see if he has any shed skin stuck on the end. Just to be safe. In general though their whole bodies can change color depending on their state of mind and environmental factors.

peace,
nate
