Will she pop em'....? Pic inside..

darkserpent213 Jan 12, 2006 08:25 AM

We bought a pregnant female albino leopard and have had her for 1 month now and she still hasnt popped em out yet. Will she be ok? We tried soaking her in warm water for a bit and no bite. She is still eating also. Will these eggs still come out if they are stillborn? Or will she die with them in her?

Please help. Pic inside.

Are you sure she is actually gravid? Can you see the eggs? Sometimes fat deposite can look like eggs. If you get a pic of her belly we may be able to tell.

It takes 2-5 weeks so you cuold have another week especially if its her first time. But can you get a pic of her belly? Mabey put her in a glass tank and take a pic from underneath?

The pics were a little unclear but if she is gravid then she should stop eating before she ready to lay them. And as long as you provide the proper nesting area, she should be just fine. I wouldn't worry about her unless she starts acting abnormal;not eating, not pooping, not be active, anything out of the ordinary. She will know what to do. Just give her time and she will lay them, she looks pretty fat and alert so she looks fine right now. I have had a couple geckos in the past that take a little over a month or so to lay their eggs. Eating is the key though, she should ignore food nearing time for her to lay.

No problem.I have worked with a lot of reptiles and the leopard gecko is new to me compared to the others I have.lol. I know how it goes though, you want to make sure there is nothing you have to worry about. By the way she is a very nice looking gecko. You should keep me posted on her eggs and the hatchlings, maybe I could take one off of you hands.lol.
Your male looks great, nice and fat.lol. Here is the female I have right now.
