Standing Up?

WanderingLost Jan 12, 2006 10:03 PM

My bearded dragon sometimes spends extensive perionds of time "standing Up" on his hind legs with his front ones resting on the glass. Sometimes he will even sleep all night like this. I didn't think anything of this untilI read that other reptiles can develop back problems if they do this too often. I was wondering if this was the case for beardies? Thanks.

mine does this too, and i've heard of the back problems, but i dont think its too much to worry yourself over. i usually just pick him up and lay him down if he falls asleep like this, during the day though, this usually means that he wants my attention, because after doing it a few times and having me pick him up promptly he realized that this is an easy way to get a cuddle. but at night he's too sleepy to play so he snuggles back down to sleep on his belly when i move him. i suggest getting a lizard hammock, mine loves his, and hardly sleeps upright anymore. i think he likes being high up.
