All geyri babies are at least partially out!

dancetoday Jul 25, 2003 02:05 AM

The first geyri baby was out all of the way this morning but only two of the other eggs just looked like they were sweating. I was worried because that's what the last egg did before it died. But this evening all three of the other eggs hatched. They're so incredibly cute! I've taken pics and will put them in my picturetrail album soon. I'm not posting here to sell them, they're spoken for (if I can stand to part with them!) but just because I'm so excited. If anyone has experience hatching uros in general, please let me know when they start eating and anything else as I've hatched other lizards but these are my first uros. -Lucy

Just a warning, in case you didn't know. Uros need to get the bacteria for digeting greens from the parents, just like rabbits do. They need to eat adult fecal matter for about the first month (at least). Doing this innoculates them with the beneficial bacteria they need. Make sure you do this or you may find their health is less than optimal.

John
