Tired of just reading and not posting.... get a new baby veiled

porkchop48 Jan 13, 2006 02:49 PM

For christmas, she is about 2 months old. I didnt realize how cute the babies are. Any way i do have other critters so i do have some kind of knowledge, I have a beardie, a water dragon, a couple of green anole, bullfrogs, cuban frogs, spiny soft shell turtle, painted turtle, a albino pac man, and a slobbering farting bulldog. Where to start ? Oh what all can i feed her ? Canm i vary the diet when she is so little or do i have to wait until she gets bigger ? Thanks in advance guys

In my opinion varying the diet at a young age would be a good thing. Providing most of the food items were healthy, and all of them were the appropriate size needed. Teeny silkworms, albeit expensive, are really healthy aswell as butterworms. Crickets are the normal, and they are good, they keep your baby active and alert. I have been told specifically 'bred feeder flies' are great aswell however I have not used them..

slobbering farting bulldog. LOL!!! I am afraid to ask its name!?

Welcome to cham world, glad you posted! Yeah, chams are cute when small, and then just weird as they grow up!lol! I am looking forward to a new (3-4month) little fella myself in a couple months

Vary the diet as much as he will take. You will find out his favorites, though that may change over time. As Will said, silkworms are yummy, but can be pricey if just feeding them off. Franky, with all of your animals you might want to breed them. But if just to try I would not order any more than 25 to start.

You do realize that cham's requirements (humidity, temps, etc.) are different from other lizards, but sounds like you have a good variety of habitats - we would all love to see some pics. We do not limit it to cham pics only

Feel free to ask questions, this is one of the best places for cham info on the 'net!

The slobbering farting bulldog is named PORKCHOP , hint on how i got my log in name. I have studied up alot on my new baby i knew the when she was just an egg i was getting her so i had a good while to learn alot. I got her from my sister who had bred hers. I would like to post some pics of my very large tank my dad built it is about 6 ft tall 5 ft wide and about two foot deep , has a ten gallon tank in the bottom that you can see in , with guppies and other live bearers to feed my turtles and various frogs.Eventually it will have red eyed tree frogs sorry im just so proud of that tank had to mention it... But one more question i would like to start breeding feeders of sorts what kind should i try. I do have like i said the guppies and i also have mice for the critters that do eat pinkies but what about silk or wax worms or something like that? thank you in advance and for the warm wlecome, much friendlier than the frog board
