Question for other breeders (especially subocs)

johnbort2 Jan 13, 2006 04:42 PM

I just pulled my subocs out of brumation this week(last sunday). My female ate right away, but the male wouldn't take food(tried Sunday and then Wed). I know my male rainbow boa won't eat when he thinks it's time to breed, are subocs the same way? All temps, humidity, etc are within parameters. Just wondering. Thanks, John

Male subocs occasionaly do that, and I wouldn't worry, especially since it has only been a week since you've warmed them back up. Give it some time.
He may still think it is winter, since the days (outside) are still shorter.

Good luck!

Thanks Dusty. That's what I figured, but I always like to get a second opinion to put my mind at ease. BTW, I think your site is great.

Thanks for your compliment on my blog. I can't wait to FINALLY have the web site up and running. Hopefully others will find it useful and I won't just be flogging a dead horse.

Later on,
Dusty
