My one female Beardie threw up?

SecretSReptiles Jan 13, 2006 08:54 PM

I may have turned the light out too soon? I fed her around 7pm and turned the lights out at 9pm. tonight, I noticed her food she ate was back out of her. She threw up her dinner last night! WHAT SHOULD I DO?!
The rest of my dragons are away from each other, and they all did ok. Just this one female worries me Then I tried to feed her tonight and she wants nothing to do with her food.

2 hours before lights out is not really enough time for proper digestion. I suggest feeding earlier, around 5-6pm to make sure she does get time to digest.

I wouldn't worry about anything right now, other than making sure you don't feed too late in the evening. If she continues to throw up, take her to a vet right away and keep her well hydrated (diluted gateraid works great to give a dehydrated or vomiting dragon).

You can offer some gateraid now, to help but if she goes back to eating normally and doesn't throw up again, then she's fine, it was just having too short a time to digest that caused her to be sick.

Yesterday she wouldn't eat, but she did drink alot. This morning I offered her some food, and she ate like a bandit. I think it was from me feeding a bit too much that night and didn't give her enough time to diguest. It was the first time feeding a bit too late at night. Every evening I feed when I get home. Just that night I had to rush out.
