This is a common condition caused by lack of humidity and/or mild dehydration. Make sure adequate water is available and increase humidity by providing a humidity hide box, misting, changing to a different substrate, or soaking. This shouldnt cause any long term problems if corrected.

It doesn't seem like my BP drinks from his water dish anymore. I have noticed him drinking from some of the plastic leaves after I spray down his tank.
If he did stop drinking from the water dish, how can this be corrected? I don't even know how to tell for sure if he does use the water dish anymore or not.
You can tell if a ball python is dehydrated if u poke the widest part of the bell,if the scales stay in for a few seconds ur ball bp is not getting adequate amounts of water, the scales should return back to there place in less then 2 seconds.

Ball pythons will often come over and drink right away when you put in a bowl of fresh water. So if you tend to leave the water in the cage sitting for days on end (even if it looks clean to you), you might consider changing it out every couple of days.
Don’t worry much about the dented eye caps unless your snake starts to have horribly adhered sheds. But the condition does signify that the humidity is lower than the snake would “like.”
