Sick leucomela

scottyo2u Jan 14, 2006 01:06 AM

One of my five leucs has been losing weight fairly quickly. I thought that it might be internal parasites. I took her out today and placed her in a smaller container to help her get more food and I noticed that her eyes where cloudy almost like cataracts. I have been around frogs almost all my life and darts the past 5 years and I have never seen anything like it before. It makes sense now because I was watching her eat a week or so ago and noticed that she was missing a lot. So now I don't know if she is skinny from parasites or her eyes. My questions are what can the eye thing be, is there anything I can do to help it, and are her 2 cage mates in danger? Good news is that the small container seems to help, she ate fairly well. I am waiting to see what shape her stool is in to see if parasites might be the problem too.

thanks for reading,
Jennifer

You might consider taking it to a herp vet in your area. You can find one at the link below. Click on "members" and this will bring you to a choice of areas that have listings.
