Sarawaks

Does anyone know what the going price is on sarawaks? How much would a subadult pair cost?
Thanks

Since there are so few Sarawaks around there is no established market price. Personally, I think sarawaks are more rare than angolan pythons and yet see what their prices are compared to sarawaks. Of course we are talking separate species versus subspecies differences. However, collection of true sarawaks would be extremely difficult due to their remote location and less likely to be imported due to limited quotas. Since there are only maybe 2-3 people with breedable pairs, I find it highly unlikely you would fine subadults. Hatchlings have sold from $150 to $250 each so far.

Hi Rich,
Has that guy done any breeding for you this year?

He is no stud muffin that is for sure. I have not observed copulation, but he does hang around the girls. I noticed this behavior before and got successful clutchs so I can only hope he is a shy and fast lover.

He is definitely a boy so no doubt there (just in case you were wondering). He is currently in with my largest female and just shed so I was hoping pheromones would help.

I will let you know if anything happens. How about you? Any babies in the future?

He must not take after his dad, because my male does not waste any time when I throw him in with the females. He locked up with both females numerous times since I introduced them in November. The big girl I got from Chris definitely looks like she's taking, now if I can get a better fertility ratio from her this year I'll be happy. I tried cutting back a bit on her food this summer to see if that might help. I'll have to get a picture of one of the few babies I got from her last year. They have a real interesting look.

I'm not sure if my original female is gravid, but she is pretty reliable so I'm not worried yet. Good luck and keep in touch.
