hiding leo

spearmint123 Jan 14, 2006 09:27 AM

So i have had my first leo for about 2 months now from petco. He/she was about 1 1/2 inches long. It has gotten a nice size and a nice plump tail. I just have one concern, he/she don't come out of hiding really at all. just when its moving from hide spot to hide spot. I have been hand feeding it mealies cause i don't think it can see in the bowl yet. I don't know if that is normal leo behavior.

Thanks for the help

I had a leo i got at a convention that was i tad underweight. I kept her for a while, she maintained that weight and i would always find hre walking aroudn her cage. Then she got more comfy, eats like a hog, and stays in her hide. And remembe rtheyre nocturnal

Hi,

I'm just now learning about Leopards and would like to have one someday. One of my students has brought her leopard in and we keep it as a room pet now. She hides whenever she is in her tank. She has a half log and another thing I call her condo where she can hide. We remove the condo during the day, so when she hides in her log, people can see her. She usually stays there during the day, but I have learned that they are nocturnal (spelling) and will hide during the day. When the student takes her out, she loves to explore and is very comfortable in being handled by just about anyone. She likes to ride on our shoulders, but also likes to hide in the students hoodies. It is so cute! Anyway, I have alot more to learn before I own one myself.
