how to report improper care by sellers???

zoomdoof Jan 14, 2006 11:46 AM

any one know, who I can report an illegal vendor to? The place where my friend got my xmas turtle is beyond inadequate for them. there must have been over 100 turtles in water no deeper than 3 inches, improper lighting, giving out improper care info...just everything was wrong, those poor turtles are probably gonna have the same fate as mine, which is sick (I've done eveything I can to help it, gonna take it to the vet on monday, cus they are closed on the weekends)
The sooner I can get those turtle proper care, the better for them. please help, thanks.

I think it depends on if the turtles are native to your state or not. If they are you can report it to the game warden, if not in some states the county health dept. handles these things.
If nothing else you could contact your county animal control dept. for advice on who to report problems to.
Good luck with it, unfortunately in many states nobody cares enough about reptiles to include them in laws that protect them.
