Do they have humid hides in their enclosures? If not they need them, and it needs to be misted every few days. A tuperwhare container with paper towels or moss works great, just cut a hole in the top or side.

Aside from that you need to get the shed of their feet now. They could lose thier toes. Soak them in some warm water(not deep just to cover their feet). Then work at getting the shed off. q-tips and tweezers usually work best.

Good luck.

I have 2 hide spots and i am using paper towl as a substrate. should i through in another hide spot as a humid hide or just mist the ones i have?
thanks

A humid hide in my opinion is one of the best things you can provide a leo with. It not only serves to aid in the shedding process but also in keeping them hydrated. I have a link on my site with simple instructions on how to make a humid hide if you are interested.

thanks for the help but i still have some skin around the toe.
some of it came off. should it take a couple days or should i take them to a vet. And if so do you have an idea of how much. Im canadian by the way.

if the skin does not come off can they die?
and this may sound stupid but if the toe comes off how severe is it?

Did you try the warm water soak and a q-tip like was suggested? I've never had one where the skin wouldn't come off. You really don't want the toe to start dying, it can get infected & cause other problems. I have no idea what a vet visit would cost up there. Even here in the states it varies dramatically.

I had the gecko in warm water for a an hour. I had it so his feet would be soakeed. Im not 100 percent sure what to do with the q tip. What i did was make it warm and rub it on the toe.

I was wondering if it would be ok to put a humidifier in the room were my leos are. My male gecko still has quite of bit of skin on his toes the female just has one spot now. The male gecko is very hard to put in a container to be soaked in. He always squirms around and attempte to bite. I am going to call a vet tommrow. Im hoping they can do it and not charge a lot since it seems easy.

Buy this stuff called shed aid at petco or petsmart. It works great for all mine. just spray it on there toes and let it sit for about a minute and then VERY gently peel it off. you may have to do this a few times to get it full softened, but I have only had it not work once out of the many times i have used it.
