Possible IMG, opinions please

reiding@nettally Jan 14, 2006 04:32 PM

I have had this imported female for almost a year and she has become a little darker since. Could she possibly be an IMG?
Any opinions would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Rob Reiding.

i have only exerpienced one img so far and that is my female. i bought her when she was about 9 months old. when she was about a 1 and a half she started changing colors.
the color change that ive noticed where her spots, they started to turn like a greyish cream, and then that color turned into this bright yellow.
im not sure if an img will get darker right before it goes through the color change or not. but i do think that in some ball pythons, as they age they tend to get a little darker. still she is a very beautiful snake. is she a good eater?
here are a few pictures that i put together to show you what she looked like as a baby (top left corner). then how she looked when she first started to change (top right corner). and then a picture of her in her yellow stange. the last picture is of her now. i think the brown coloring is starting to come back.

Thanks for your response. Yours looks like a very nice one. I got mine as an adult import, so I don't know what she looked like as a baby or juvenile, hence my question if she might be an IMG. She has gotten darker since I got her and the lighter spots on her back are kind of yellowish. She did not eat for about the first 7 months and after that she has eaten about 20 Gerbils so far. Now she weighs more than when I first got her.
Did you get yours knowing she was an IMG or did you find out later?

i got Logan at a petstore that i was working at for 60 bucks. she was my first snake and at the time i didnt know much about ball pythons, all i really knew was to keep her warm and feed her once a week. i used to put her in my pocket of my hoodie and take her ever where. she used to be so tiny, now she is a tank. lol
im happy yours is doing well. i recently had to put my wild caught to sleep. she was an adult that wouldnt eat for me. good luck and take care!

What would be the difference between the one I have and a "Known IMG"?

Thanks,

that is NOT an IMG either...call it a wierd yellow striped ball or faded color ball.but it isn't an IMG...

an IMG is a ball that is trying to be an emory.......black...

Ozzy has a very dark female ball.....go to Ozzyboids site and find that one........there are alot of them but his came to mind first......

........IMG -INCREASED black..............

I could not find any IMG on Ozzyboid's website, but found one on the site of Ralph Davis. It seems the IMG's start out very ligh, even a light greyish color, and later on turn to a very dark color with the black coming up the sides. So depending on age an IMG may be either very light or very dark?

This little female was hatched from a WC gravid female with IMG look but not as intense as this baby. She died soon after laying. This little one was born normal looking and changed over a week period at about 5 months. I think and Albino IMG would be pretty cool,

wow very pretty. my female has almost the exact same back neck spot...
have any of you noticed that alot of the imgs tend to be females? maybe thats all i see but what if theres something going on with sertain females? who knows these imgs are a big mistery... i love it. if calling them an img is wrong, then how about the comeleon ball? lol. has anyone ever tried to breed two imgs together?
