quick question

i've heard about breeders breeding brothers and sisters to prove certain traits. is this true and if so is it harmful to the bloodline? thank you for any replies

Just kidding......It happens to be one of the only ways sometimes to get the traits desired by breeding related animals. It really isn't all that bad unless it is continuosly done generation after generation. I have even heard that breeding siblings or related animals also strengthens the lines.

thanks for the reply. i really do live in the south, sunny florida lol. i asked because i got a pretty female hogg and a buddy has a normal hypo male. we're looking to breed them for hypo hoggs and i love the sunset crosses and was going to establish a breeding pair from the first breeding. i would love to buy two unrelated sunset crosses but i've seen them on this site for no less then $2000 each and on a cops salary that kinda steep. would the related breeding pair work you think?
