Help! I want to ship my 2 collareds from NJ to Oregon!

platinumtlc Jan 14, 2006 10:12 PM

How do I do this?! I just moved away for college from NJ to Oregon and I want to ship my collareds with me. I set up a new tank for them here in my room and I am ready to have them shipped here. Is it safe for them? What is the procedure? Any help please!

When I had my collardes shipped, they were shipped UPS next day air. They were in small plastic containers with air holes, inside of a box that was origanily used for shipping crickets. What college are you going to?

So for 2 adult lizards, should I do 2 separate boxes? Or 1 big box? And do I need the heat packs? I don't know how the temperature ranges going across the country.

You can put them in a glad sandwich type container with lid /holes poked in the lid or sides of plasic. Or give each there own if they are bigger lizards.

I always tape the lid on each side also just incase it would pop off some how.

I would add a heat pack if the temps are really freezing, make sure you do NOT allow the heat pack to come in contact with the lizards/container, read that article I linked ya to, as far as heat pack placement (real important)

Best wishes , hope they arrive safe and sound, let us know!
