is it ok to add a little calcium glubonate to my crickets gutload or will eating it kill them?

Because it is so concentrated you'd be better off feeding them natural whole foods that are naturally high in calcium. Liquid and dusting supplements should be used only as supplements. Your chameleon will fare better getting his nutrients as he would in the wild - a diverse, natural diet.

Why would you want to use this in the gutload? If you used a small amount it probably would not hurt them, but it may not benefit either so why waste it. I would stick with a good wet and dry gutload.

If you go to Beautiful Dragons, Veronica has a great chart on veggies to (and not to) feed to bearded dragons and this can be used as a guide to feed your crickets. The great thing about this chart is that i gives the Ca:P ratio (calciumhosphorus) as well as pros and cons of certain food. All the foods are color coded so it is easy to find what is good and what is not.

If you want to make your own dry gutload www.adcham.com has a good recipe (cheaper than buying in the long run)

silkworms are naturally high in calcium so are a great feeder for your cham. Butterworms are too, but also higher in fat - great as a treat

since i also have chelonians, i feed them a variety of fruits and veggies already on that list. that's what i'm using now to gutload and just wasn't sure if a little calcicum glub would be worth adding. i have some left over from rehabbing an ig. thanks for the info though.
