turtle tank neutralizer

Wardley Turtle Tank Neutralizer in the shape of a turtle, dissolves in the tank water and is white. It says that the calcium in the block aids in the prevention of shell softness. Anyone use this product? Is it even useful? thanks/p

I don't think it's particularly useful. I've never used it in my aquatic turtle's tanks. I feed them foods with enough calcium & provide the sunlight and/or UVB lighting that they need so they've never had a problem with shell softness.
For the box turtles, they get vitamin/mineral supplements in their food every week so no problem with them either.

thanks. I thought it might be unnecessary, but then I would have never thought to give the boxies cuttle bone. Mine have chewed on the one in the pen a wee bit, but this is their time for less of everything. They do a bit of eating, sitting in the water & sun, but mostly they are hidden in the holes.
