spider scaring turtle?

jada123 May 18, 2003 09:10 PM

My RES Maya was basking on her log, it was about 10:00 P.M. when I got her off her rock so she could eat before she went to bed. I noticed she was scared of me touching her and picking her up. Then I noticed this spider on her log and I'm wondering if it bit her or something. It had little fang things. She is now in her cleaning bin and its not very big. I am going to kill the spider and clean her tank. Then put her back in her tank. I checked her out and she looks fine, nothing appears to be wrong. any suggestions? thanks! Erica

I doubt that the spider was able to bite her arms/legs because the scales may be too thick but the spider can probably bite the skin on the inside of the leg (right inside the shell)...yes, I would catch the spider and throw it out...

I'm suprised the turtle didn't eat the spider.
On a side note my dog enjoys eating spiders all the time.
