Translucent Calyptratus

Willhayward Jan 16, 2006 09:37 AM

Im sure is evident to most why I would post this, but I would like to do some reading on Translucent Calyptratus. Unfortunately this morning all my searches led to a German website, which I assume is where the bulk of this gene or whatever it be is located. The page doesn't translate well to english.

If anyone has any websites they are aware of that have information on Translucent Calyptratus, I would be interesting in giving it a read.

Thanks you.

Hey Will,

never heard of a translucent chameleon (albino has been mentioned from time to time) are you sure you are not thinking of bearded dragons? Where did you first hear of them? Have you seen pics? Would be interesting to see. I have a trans. dragon

I would think that one of your best sources would be Chris Anderson of chameleonnews.com. Not that there are not other knowledgeable folks here, but he is studying to be a herpototlogist at Coenell and has done extensive travling. Will be interested to see what you find out! My dragon is pretty cool.

I'm not sure if I like the way they look or not! Sort of freaky. I wonder if they have troubles later in life and what the adults look like. Very interesting markings, too.

Not exactly something I would call beautiful, however interesting? Absolutely.

I have yet to find photos of adults, which lead me be beleive just what you suggested. But they are fascinating none the less, and it would be neat to discovery new information about them and understand why and how it happens.

With such a price tag, I wonder sometimes...

They do. Only their skin isn't really too "translucent", its more nails. Or am I getting mixed with letustics? Oh well, Haha.

Either way, what are those Germans doing over there?!?

Just mentioning that you or so and so saw them in classifieds is not a violation. BUT if you were to post the addy or link to that specific ad, or any more specific info concerning the ad, then it would be in violation. (It then becomes an advertisement)

Other words do not make your post an ad for the person running the ad, OR invite people to go there. (Understand) ??? But saying you saw them there is okay. Believe me they will go and look on there own.

*Again sorry about not posting sooner, I'm peeking in on things, but not posting as much, my Old english sheepdog Grizzly had exploratory stomach surgery end of last week, and just got results he has cancer. We started chemo last night as his last chance since he has just turned 9 and is NOT out of the game yet have to do everything we can. He has been not eating or drinking since surgery, and is bummin me out big time

It's so tramatic, first I hate cancer it took my Mom and Dad and brother (lung cancer) SMOKING ! I also HATE chemotherapy as I saw them all go down after getting it. I know it does help some.

Anyway I love this BIG GOOFBALL, he's a happy Clown and makes me Smile all the time, but now it's SAD waking each day to find he can not eat, and in Dogs and cats they say chemo is sometimes very helful to put them in remission. I had to do it just to see if he can get an appetite back.

I don't feel GOOD about it all, and if he continues to be sick will not make him suffer.

Thanks Empathy does help
