Please answer: question on reduced-patterned BPs...

ginevive Jan 16, 2006 11:07 AM

I was wondering.. does a BP have to have absolutely NO dark spots in its pattern to qualify as Reduced.. or can there be some spots? I saw the ones pictured on the RDR site, and a few of the babies did have some spots.
Is there a certain "percentage" of allowable spots to be permissable to qualify a BPs' pattern as Reduced? Or is it a term reserved for smakes which have been bred and found to have mostly-reduced babies?

Thanks; I like that page.
The male I have, fits those descriptions on most of his body; clear belly, etc. But he doesn't have the bronzish color; he is actually more olive greenish. He definately has a different shade than my normals; and he is fully grown too.

that we've been fortunate enough to get to breed this year and we can't wait to see what we get, if anything. We bred her to a male that is also very different looking and we'll keep you posted on the results.
