nostril sheding

thebig_j Jan 16, 2006 12:43 PM

My adult beardie has what I see as a a shding of th scales around her nose. However there is a small spiral object holding it on. I was wondering if this could be a part of the inner nose that for some reason has protruded out of the nose. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this happening and why. I am worried that this could be a problem related to not enough UVB because I recently aquired her from a woman who I bleive never used a UV light i dotn know for sure. any help is appreciated.

when mine shed around their nose ( i can't but help picking at them sometimes when it's ready to come off) if you gently pull at the part around the nostril, the inner skin-lining of the nostril cavity (which sheds too it seems) comes out with the surrounding nostril skin.. that's probably what you see attached to her skin.. Does it seem to be coming out of her nose? then you can just pull it out.. it's kinda soft and boogery and fun! I love it when they shed!
