Can anyone I.D. this Carpet???

venomousdave Jan 16, 2006 01:16 PM

I bought this carpet as a rescue from a local petshop. He is just under 4ft, and they where keeping him in a 12"x12" cage. He also had mites and a Resp. infection when I got him. He was sold to me as a jungle, but I live in an area full of uneducated rednecks . I do think he's a jungle, I just want to make sure, as I will probably end up breeding it. The photo is of his temp. cage before I built his enclosure. Thanks everyone................venomousdave.

That would be a jungle carpet.

They had it priced at 160 but sold it to me for 60 because it had such a bad "attitude". He has gotten me a couple of times, but is really calming down pretty good. I've been into snakes for about 12 years and have been bit by several species, and I have to say, Carpet pythons have some good sized teeth . He is one of the coolest snakes I've ever had..........Thanks again, venomousdave.

o man if you think they have big teeth u should try an adult wild caught white lipped python...i dont know if it was the size of the teeth or just the sheer speed and power of the aggresive bite, but the one i used to have could hit hard...my buddy said it was worse then some emerald tree boas he had worked with lol

My guess is that he/she realy are a jungle. The pattern on the head looks like a normal jungles head. But it's hard to tell when there are many crossbreeds out there.
