Just got a Beautiful Albino Baby Boy Burm and have a question

metaldad904 Jan 16, 2006 02:00 PM

Hello all,

I'm new to this particular board. I just got a male albino burmese. He's beautiful and very sweet. He's 9 wks old and around 28 inches. He ate very willingly, wolfing down an adult mouse like it was nothing. My question is to how often do you think i should feed him? What is healthy, or unhealthy? I've had many different snakes, including larger boids, but have never owned a burmese and i have heard about Burms having big appetite's. I was thinking about feeding him every 5-7 days, like most snakes. I just wanted to see if i should go more? It just seems like the 1 mouse didn't satisfy him. He kept pacing his cages searching for more food. I know about care, and housing and size and all that, so save your warnings. Trust me, i know what i'm getting into. Reptiles are my world, the bigger the better to me.

thanks for the responses

once a week or every two weeks..I start mine off at once a week till they get some body weight up then i move them slowly to two weeks..also I feed mine rats..if yours is eating large mice then you should move it to small rats..rats are more nutritious..
