i'm thinking of purchasing a green tree python they have always been one of my most favorite species and i would love to have one but before i went out and got one i thought i should ask the people who know best which i hope are you here what are some of the do's and donts of owning, raising, and purchasing the right one? And how about a cage for them i'd be building it myself so what material and size i'd like this cage to be able to display this extreamly beautiful animal so all could see who visit my home, any help very much appreciated

I was in the exact same place as you are one year ago. I have always loved these snakes but only recently decided to get serious about keeping them. I started with Greg Maxwell's website www.finegtps.com

I then purchased his book called "The Complete Chondro". The second edition comes out later this month.

Here it is a year later and I am waiting to receive my 6th Green Tree Python. They are very addicting and really neat animals to keep. According to all I have heard, they will do well for you if you take the time to get their environments set up correctly ahead of time.

The website and the book will point you in the right direction. Have fun!

Mike
