On the back of the bag, it says it's great for uro's too. But then again, calci-sand says it's great for geckos so that's not saying much.

I've never seen or used this product, but any substrate advertising "Enhanced clumping capability..." is questionable to me. Hardwood pulp? So...basically, paper? What kind of texture does it have? They claim dust-free, so is it shreds? Pellets? Granules? Loose fibers?

I'm not planning to run out and buy any. Just curious.

It *looks* like it is just left over paper scraps... in which case it probably wouldn't hurt the Uro.. though the "enhanced clumping" and "resists mold and decay" both lead me to believe that it ISN'T just paper...

This wouldn't be on my list of things to try... but I don't really feel like I know enough about it to make a definitive statement.

Howdy,
I have used it for other things and from those experiences; I would not recommend it for uros. It’s great for snake displays at expos or leopard geckos but would be crap for the uros. The best I can describe it is it’s like a real soft wood/paper product, but much thicker than paper. It’s almost like they shred the stuff, I never had anything eat it that I know of so not sure as how it would do in the digestive system of any animal. The stuff does not stick to fecal matter any better or worse than sand or anything else really for that matter! It’s also pretty expensive so save your self the time and $.

My vet told me the best thing for Uro's is Lizard Liner, a felt mat. He says he doen't recommend the other substrates out there, and this one is cheap and you basically only need two mats, one for all the time and one for when you clean the tank and that will be all that you need. I was just told that after the calci-sand that I have been using for years caused a blockage in my Uro and he may pass on because of it.

Seems like if you're going to use any sort of "mat", newspaper would be the better & cheaper option. No?
