Swollen chin pac man frog. Help!!

beagle25 Jan 17, 2006 12:35 AM

Last week I fed my one year old pac man frog a large feeder gold fish and couple days later I noticed that his chin had swollen a lot so that it looks like he has a double chin. This was a pretty large meal for him. Has anybody else encountered this after feeding their pac man a really large meal? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Fluid retention in an anuran is a condition that needs to be monitored as it can be the result of several different conditions including bacterial infections and can be fatal.

In general goldfish should not be used as a feeder item due to the high cholesterol levels. There are other fish that are much more suitable food item, if you search the forums you can find the info that has been discussed several times.
