You can feed them mustard greens,it does have a mustard taste to them but mine eat it!

yeah, i've tasted them, it's very surprising! they taste like a very strong mustard! my beardies apparently like mustard cus they LOVE mustard greens. I'm sure it's ok to give to uros. I've noted on a site for nutritional value of vegetables that mustards have lots of calcium (1.7%) which matched the ca in collards and I know those are good! I think i found the vegatable content chart off of the Borderview bearded dragons site

Thank you for your advice!

hmm, i want to say that on the forum one time they were discussing this and they said that mustard greens were not good for uros, something to do with the oils in the greens. i want to say it was torey or elizabeth who said something about this, but i could be really off

hmmm, well I feed them so it wasn't me!

I know collard greens have a less than ideal calcium phosphorous ration... but they are still OK to feed as part of a rotation. Mustard greens are part of my Uros staple diet (mustard, collard, bok choy, turnip). I don't remember seeing a thread on them being bad, but I may have missed it.

hmm, i swear i read that somewhere because in my mind they are on my list of things not to feed.
when i used to attempt to feed them to helga and hugo, they never went near them and i have never offered them to xoco or stew. maybe if i have time later on i will try to find what i think i read, ha ha. but as for now just chalk it up that i am crazy

Stew should eat them. That's one of the four main greens I offer them.

stew loves escarole and dried peas. i have had to stop putting dried peas in his salad as he was only eating them. now once he eats his greens like a good boy, i put some in there

wow. there were some really big words in that post on the other forum
i thought it was a regular on here who had said that, not that debb is not a regular, but she doesn't post as much as you two so that is why i thought it was one of you, ha ha. so i am half crazy. i was wrong about the person but not wrong about there being something up with mustard greens!

Good Memory Vonnie!

A little confused, but my theory is that as long as you get the important bits right you can sort out the rest later.

Though this does pose an interesting problem that will require more research on my side since decent mustard greens are one of the few greens I can regularly get. Back to the drawing board!
