Absolutely and Utterly, No.
The REQUIRE a heat lamp. I am worried you have not researced the husbandry that chameleons MUST have to survive.

I am sorry. I was very flustered. What I meant to say was;
They REQUIRE a heat lamp. I am worried you have not researched the husbandry that chameleons MUST have to survive.

Thanks for the reply, but a simple no would have worked just fine, I have researched many different websites and none of them mentioned it, that is why I asked. Once again thank you.
I don't think a simply "No" would have sufficed. Its completely obvious, that chameleons bodies are nto designed to lay down on a flat surface. I can't even envision in my mind, how a chameleon could sit on one. Not to mention that (Aside from the smallest of pygmy chameleons) all chameleons are arboreal lizards, requiring vertical space.
If you feel that I am coming off harsh, its for your own chameleons good. If you are still at a loss to your original problem which prompted you to post, I think by posting a photo of your set up, members can give you some ideas.

Thank you for your input, I was not thinking of my chams sitting on the pad. I was thinking of the pad as an ambient heat source, kind of like a basking lamp, but not as cumbersome.
