Girls like pink

Sighthunter Jan 17, 2006 08:06 PM

The guy at the pet store said this was perfect for little girls who like pink. So mellow she could kiss it.

Problem is we can't get near her when she is playing with tinkerbell.

a coachwhip could be that pretty or that tame. That's a big snake too. Is it a mouser?

I hatched that one in 1997. He is a big puppydog. They are just very smart and hyper but they get to know you after a few years.

I start them all on mice but it is hard.

What is natural coachwhip diet? Frogs and lizards or anything that they can catch?

Sighthunter Jan 17, 2006 10:24 PM

Stomach contents of wild hatchlings and sub adults have been lizards and insects. Adult wild caught are oppertunistic and will eat anything.

...of the eggs and hatchlings. Really cute pic of your daughter with snake too.

I'd like seeing a closeup of the eggs. Have never seen coachwhip eggs, and wonder if they have the calcium deposits on them like other racer eggs?

Thanks....TC

Yes, the eggs feel like sand paper. Thank you for the compliments......Bill

I think the chair is Bertoya. The little girl is my daughter Abigail. Thank you for the compliment.

Great pic and great snake. Nice to see someone captive breeding coachwhips. I have raised a couple and they are neat and responsive snakes. They don't "love" being handled, but they aren't as bad as people think.

That chair however seems like a snake handler's nightmare. I could see a big active snake like that getting hopelessly wound up in those big spaces and driving me crazy trying to get it out!

Coachwhips are easy to breed and hard to raise from hatchlings.
