Tub alternatives...

jarskie Jan 18, 2006 02:50 PM

Check it out, let me know what everyone thinks... Seems like a possible alternative to the ever popular question, which is the better tub...

Pros: heat and cold tested, made for food (so you know there isn't any harmful chemicals that could possible hurt your snakes), consistant supply and sizes (common problem, you get or build a rack, and a year down the road, they dont make the tubs anymore), and there are a wide selection of sizes...

Cons: they are more expensive...

Just a thought, wanted to see what yall had to say about it..
Has anyone used something like this before?

I think the best reptile tubs are the ones made by ARS Caging. They have a built in water bowl receptacle. I recently bought a rack, and I love the rack and the tubs, defintaly top notch stuff. Here is a link...

nice tubs (and snake too)! Do you just put a deli cup inside of those? Or do you put water right in? I suspose you could do either.

you put deli cups in the recepticle. Those are nice looking racks, why haven't I heard of them before? Is this something new?

But what about animals that like the occasional soak? It's hard to squeeze into a deli cup...

Otherwise, I like them.

Those are neat! - I saw them somewhere else before - nother site maybe - can't remember - kept thinking people that use newspaper probably wouldn't like having the cup thingy in the middle. How do they clean? Any harder to clean out the cup holder?

Thanks

I put a deli cup into the receptacle, and once a week, or whenever it is soiled, I throw out the deli cup, and replace it with a new one. They clean easier then any other tub I have ever used, very smooth finish. Yes it is a little hard to use newspaper with these tubs... I guess you could fold or cut stripes to fit around the receptacle??

Brian at ARS caging also offers tubs without the deli option. He had them on display at the Tinley show and they are very nice racks. I plan to buy a few myself
