Panther Color Question

a dark dark red with black and orange splotches is the gravid coloration of a female panther correct? thx- ryan

It varies from morph to morph to some extent but here are two pictures of gravid/non-receptive coloration in panther chameleons...

It is many other things too. Could just be "stay away" as in a territorial or new cage situation, or just a bad mood. "Gravid" and "receptive" colors in female panthers may mean exactly that, but they can indicate other things as well, such as mentioned, and stress, passivity for lack of stimulative influence, body temperature fluctuations, etc.
