Crested Healp Needed!!

TheGreenMan Jan 18, 2006 08:54 PM

My female crested was sitting in her plant and I knoiced here tail shaking. Then I went in a few minutes later cause I heard a noise. She was doing an alligator-like death roll in the moss. This lasted for a second or wo and when she stopped the muscles in her left legs were spasaming, like her tail did. She was also gaping. I picked her up and she gaped some more so I looked in her mouth and saw nothing obvouisly wrong. What is going on here? Should I be worried and take her to the vet? Thanks for any help.

n/p?

n/p means no post, basically the answer is in the subject line.

I deffinitely second the opinion to take y our crested to the vet. the spasming and 'deathroll' sounds like a severe calcium crash, pain or neurological disorder (either genetic or brought about by injesting something toxic) or could be bad impaction.

I talked to the vet and he said to keep an eye on her. He does not think it is compaction or calcium deficiancy since I keep her on spagnum moss and I dust her crickets. It hasn't happened since the first time so hopefully that was a one time deal.
