DEAD MALE PLUMIFRONS

batlizard Jan 19, 2006 09:24 AM

Hi all
I came back from two days out of town and my male is DOA
I found him at the bottom of the enclosure where it is cool as compared to the rest. I keep temps from 60 on the floor to 120 at the highest point. I have found in the past the male will lay on the floor and get too cool. I place him on the basking branch he warms up and is fine. I have about 28 lizards mostly monitors and he just seemed not very smart.
Has anyone ever seen this activity?
He warmed up ate wand was alert prior but I was not there to move him myself? Any thoughts

He may have been sick or infected with a parasite of some sort. 120 is kinda high, even for the highest point. My hottest spot is around 100, while my cool spots around 70.

Plumifrons? DOA? I really am not sure what you're talking about.

But if temperature wasn't the killer, then I am sure it was something else - was there any odd behaivor and how long did you have him?
