Follicles - What are they?

ChristianC Jan 19, 2006 04:02 PM

What exactally are follicles and how do you check for them? Are they unfertized ova? I have read mention about "large" follicles. How do you know? ultrasound or just appearence?

Hi Christian,

Follicles are developing ova. You can't really see them, but once the Follicles get big, you will notice the boa looks kind of fat. The only way to really see them is with ultrasound. Its a simple answer but I think it will give you the idea.
