Leaving Crickets Overnight

bmills May 18, 2003 09:38 PM

I was just wondering if it is okay to leave crickets in the tank overnight. I have a female albino leopard gecko. She hasn't eaten in about a week, so I am going to try a different type of food tomorrow for her. I was just wondering if it is bad to leave a cricket in the tank overnight to see if she will eat it. Thanks for the help.

If you decide to leave crickets overnight I'd suggest also leaving a piece of apple or something in there too so the crix don't nibble on your leo

leaving crickets in over night is only good for stressed leos. even with food for the crickets, they still might bite ur geck. if you gecko wont eat them within a half hour, it wont eat them no matter how long theyre there. they will just bore and annoy it.

I leave the crix in all night, my leos have never been bitten or nibbled on. The problem with keeping them in, they usually die anyway, they always just hide in the same spot and dont come out.

if youre going to leave them in the cage over night put some food in there for it, or if you have a dish the gex can get in and out of but the crix cant try that.
sometimes i removing the hopping legs from my crix and putthem in a dish that they cant escap from it, add a apple to the dish to encourage them (the crix) more to stay in the dish.
just my 2 cents
