Albino shed signs???

snakeball Jan 20, 2006 08:14 AM

I have a few ball pythons but I just got my first albino and I am trying to see the signs that it is going into shed. I know the belly goes pink but on the albino they already have a pinkish tint. Is there a visual tell tale sign for an albino about to go in shed.

Yep, the albino is harder to tell. Mine will get a dull look to them. That's the best sign I have seen.

I only own a couple normals, but I would think you would notice the eyes blueing over. Or is that not as noteable in albinos? Just a thought from an old hippy hobbiest LOL.

They have red eyes so the blue, that is common for normals and some others does not show for albinos.

Usually for mine - the only way I can tell is his eyes are a dull pink instead of a bright pink - deeper into his shed his color will dull out but it's not nearly as evident as on a normal - but the eyes are the main indicator to me (his belly doesn't pink or anything either).

I don't have an albino ball, but I have a snow boa; even harder to tell(maybe).

as Tasha said the eyes are what I watch, they are white, but they get a bit dull, the body really doesn't dull so the eyes are what I go by.

I know, not what you asked but thought I would through in my 2 cents.
