funny story, to me anyway.....

So I have this big fat Tegu named "Tegan". When I feed him I often open his cage and leave it open while I prepare his meal. He knows what's up and watches for his food bowl to return, usually waiting at the cage door for me when I return. Well, being the tarded hippy I am I got distracted yesterday and forgot I was in the middle of feeding time. Got a phone call you see. Well, about 5 minutes into the phone call I hear some really loud thrashing about in the ol reptile room. Since I assume it is just tegan getting anxious for his food I ignore the banging around for a minute or two while I finish my phone conversation. So I finally go back into his room, sneaking of course. I like to catch him when he thrashing his cage because when he finally sees me he is like my son getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar. He stops thrashing around and looks at me like "what, nope wasn't me... that was evil tegan" It is really quite humorous. Anyway, nedless to say, this time he was out of his cage and had found his way to a big pile of boxes in the corner of his room where he managed to get as far back as possible and make a quick bed for himself. I spent a little time trying to coax him out though I could not see him, I knew he was in there. Figuring a 4' lizard really had nowhere to go I decided to just leave the room and wait. Well, sure enough I come back 30 minutes later and there is Tegan. His little black smudged nose (he's a blue) sticking out from behind the boxes. As soon as he saw that he had been discovered he knew the jig was up. I said "Tegan, you little bugger, get over here". I swear if he could talk he would have said, "oh man, whatever... I'm going, I' going" he walked right past me, turned, looked up and flicked his tounge at me and waited patiently to be returned to his cage. What an attitude I got, if looks could kill. What a funny lizard tegus are, so intelligent and interactive. Had to share what I thought was a funny tegu ordeal. Hope you got a chuckle as well?
