nose rub...

herbivorous Jan 20, 2006 02:47 PM

I'm in need of a little advice...I just received a new BT cribo this morning that has a little bit of a scuff on its nose (I knew that it had it before I bought it). None of my other drys have had nose rubs of any kind...do you typically put Neosporin on something like that, or do you just let it go until they shed? Its not bad, and I'm sure that its going to heal fine, but I thought I'd check just the same. Thanks.
Robert

I use Betadine for abrasions.

Personally, I would avoid using any form of Iodine in treating wounds, as such has been known to cause anaphylaxis in some specimens. I prefer to use Chlorhexidine gluconate 2%, diluted as indicated per directions, for treating dermal anomalies and Neosporin will do well, I prefer the use of silver sulfadine, though it may not be available OTC…

Good luck,

Jeff

I'd say if it was rubed to the bone It may always have a white nose, and if its not too bad just nevermind it as the skin cells are totaly replinshed every shed...
