NEW EASTERN KINGSNAKE!!!!

kingsnaken Jan 20, 2006 09:32 PM

I have been wanting an Eastern Kingsnake for quite sometime, so I picked this super nice little guy up at the All MD Reptile Show in Havre De Grace, MD from Rick & Miriam Krumrine. He is so docile. I think he is a Howard County, MD Locale, but I'm waiting to hear back from the breeder to confirm this. They told me the locale, but I forgot. I really like the looks of the MD Eastern Kingsnakes. Awesome!!! What a beast!! I always enjoy your pics. My snake ate it's deli cup mate on the way to a show before I got him. I definately will get a few more. I like the OBX also. I have also picked up a couple of FL kings also from crimsonking last Summer. My wife wants me to stop calling them Deli cups. She thinks that is odd and wants me to call them repticups. HAHA!!! Thanks, Derek

You have a mighty fine baby eastern there. And the hypos are very nice too. I hope to see more of them over the years.

I love these animals, particularly the upper one. What are they please? What more can you tell me about them?

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.

Those are a 1.1 pair of Hypo FL Kings. Some people call them Brooksi or Brooks Kingsnakes. They won't stay this color forever. I'm not sure what the time frame is, but they will turn more of a beautiful yellow. They will get to a nice size, also. Average for these is about 5 feet. I got them from Crimsonking at the Daytona Expo. They are very docile. I just love them, but then again, I love all of my kings and milks. Thanks, Derek

Oh, I forgot. FL Kings also come in all different colors. I am getting some more from him this summer. Maybe Crimsonking will post a few pics, so you can see what my Hypos will look like and some other ones, too. I don't have any pics of adults. Derek

Thanks Mark, It is really difficult to describe the yellow of your FL Kings without pics. Derek

Hey Mark, did the adults "lemon up" with age or get more "straw" colored? Absolutely gorgeous!

Well, actually they are all a bit different. There are at least 2 different lines there. The big male (center pic) is from Krysko's lines (although HE had different lines as well) and the two females are from Love and Beard stocks I was told.
The very yellow female was sold to me along with the other female as a male (pair) but obviously is not. Her babies tend to be more patterned and less red with less anomalies than the lighter more aberrant female's whose babies can be very red. The reddest ones tend to fade and the brownish tend to go yellow. I'll post some different ones later. Each has been individual, however.

Hi Derek,

Nice score, I like the high chains on those Maryland animals. Good luck with it.

Hi,

I got two females from that clutch last September. I still have one and traded the other to Keith Hillson.

If I remember correctly, there was only one left (probably the little female you have)when I left his table.

Mine is eating like a champ...
