Purchasing an Argentine Red Tegu

I am looking to purchase an Argentine Red Tegu baby in the next few days and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. I dont want to spend more than 200 shipped. please let me know

you should try the classifieds on here looks like there are some for around 170 plus shipping, don't know how reputable they are though. You can try LLL Reptile too, and thetegu.com . I dont think agama or ron st pierre have reds but you could get a redxblue cross which is supposidly better as far as care because they have less shedding problems then a red for st pierre. Do your research find a reputable breeder you will be happy. Try bluetegu.com

Bennett at www.beardiedragon.com breeds reds, and he's a great guy. Not sure if he has any at present.

good red tegus are hard to find. i think LLLReptile might have some right now. they are normally pretty good from what i hear. i have not bought anything from them myself though. im not sure on their prices. but yours would be pushing it. i would rather spend more and know that i am getting a quality animal. than spend less and have to wonder. not saying that you wont find a good one for that price though.

My recommendation would be to buy from a breeder. That way you have a person who really knows their animals to help you with any questions.
