tail whorls, other post was getting so long

jeune18 Jan 21, 2006 01:52 AM

i was wondering about hugo's tail. towards the top in the center of his tail, he has like 3 "stray" spikes it looks like they were going to form a row and never did. i always wondered if more would grow when he did. it's kind of a crappy picture, i will try to get a better one tomorrow. all my other lizards have perfectly straight rows. does anyone else have one with "proto" rows?

yeah, that's really interesting, I never noticed that until you pointed it out.

I just checked out jacque's tail and he seems to have a similar thing going on there. Right about where hugo seems to have those 'out of place' scales you circled, jacques has two as well. It's right before the first 'prominent' row of spikes, there's these two scales that have their own 'row' apparently... interesting, I wonder if lots of the uro's tails are like that.

when i cropped the picture in paint, it wasn't the greatest photo but you could see what i was talking about. however, now that i posted the picture on here, on my monitor the picture looks completely warbled. that has happened with other pictures too on a different website.
can you actually see what i am talking about in the photo?
