sorry if this has been asked before, what is the maximum time it would take ackie eggs to hatch. They have been incubating since last August, the temps are 84-86 deg, although we have been having problems with the stat, we have candled them and they still look good, do you think they could still hatch.

The real problem is, all you can do is set up the eggs, keep them in the relm of what we think is right and wait. At least at this time in history.

I would have said something sooner, but I have a event going on that is related to your question, and because the event had not come to some sort of conclusion(no hatching), I could not say anything. But now that one hatched, one slit, with more eggs possible, I can add the following.

I have hatched thousands of ackies eggs, rarely they hatch as fast as 65 days and very normally in the 90 to 100 days. This is true for when we incubated them in incubators or now(last five or so years) in our incubator room. The temps we strive for are similar to yours, 84 to 86F. But of course it varies from time to time.

Recently in an attempt to produce a new kind of ackie(?). We had eggs for for very long periods. Two days ago, we hatched an egg that incubated for over 7 months. This individual is the only one in its clutch to hatch, the eggs were laid right smack in a ant hole and most dies immediately(i was lucky to get this one). Today one is hatching and I hope more(there were not visited by ants), that have incubated two days shy of 8 months. Consider, they these eggs have had normal yellow and red ackie eggs hatch in the normal 90 to 100 days in boxes right next to them and in the exact same egg box.

So now I must add, ackie eggs can take nearly 8 months to hatch. The picture is one that took a little over seven months. Cheers
