I'd like to find one exactly like this one. Well, they're variable, so it won't be exactly the same but, who are the best-known xanthic thayeri breeders out there?
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Dusty R.

You should post this question in the mexicana forum. I don't think that high yellow thayeri are really considered "xanthic". Thayeri come in so many color and pattern phases, and many different colors and patterns can come out of one clutch. Some of the best known breeders of high quality "pure" thayeri are Tim Gebhard (Vivid Reptiles), and Dan Vermilya (serpentsonline.com). There are many other good breeders. Beware of hybrids that are sold as "thayeri". Buy from someone who really cares about the species. Visit the mexicana forum, you'll see!

first guy that came to mind is robert steven cox at peace river herps-nice guy,i've dealt with him before, and the snakes i got from him are thriving...also,you could try robert applegate or ric blair....btw-without knowing if you've kept them before, thayeri often tend to dull with age, sort of like th red/orange on goini or floridana...good luck to you,i can see why you'd want one like that in the photo!
Thanks for your help.
I live near Ric, and forgot that he does thayeri. We've talked subocs. I should've known as he loves alterna and anything variable.
I have talked to Robert at Peace River before about subocs and didn't know that he was into thayeri as well.
Thanks again. And BTW, Allen and Betsy Shelton produced that snake, but I think that they are no longer in the herp breeding business.

They all have websites, check them all out. I'll think you'll find that some carry the high yellows and some don't. I haven't seen Ric Blair,Peace River, or Applegate selling the highly saturated yellows and oranges. They work with the more traditional, natural peach, and buckskin backgrounds. The high orange, and high yellow thayeri were selectively bred for many generations to achieve their saturated colors. I think Vivid Reptiles (VR line) is best known for this line of thayeri, and they work the more natural colors too.

I actually already had their web sites linked as "suboc breeders" on my own web site (blog), but somehow overlooked that they produce nice thayeri.
Typical me. I have been fixated on Trans-Pecos for so long...
Thanks again. If you ever see any other people with nice yellow-orange stock, please hollar at me.

p.s. I didn't know that there was a "mexicana forum". Did you mean the alterna forum?
Simply Subocs
There is a mexicana sub-forum. The link is at the top of the main kingsnake forum. Or click below.
