what kinda corn?

weebeasties Jan 21, 2006 05:07 PM

Someone gave me an adult corn snake (maybe rat snake) and I haven't ever seen one like this. She is big...at least 5footand has the usual corn pattern but its dark areas are rootbeer brown,on a greyish background and a cream colored belly. Lots if little speckles. No black at all and hints of yellow around the face. I just got her so I'll be a day or two getting some pics to post. What ever variety she is she's friendly and beautiful. Any ideas from the corn gurus?

If it is a corn, its either Elaphe guttata slowinski or Elaphe guttata emoryi. If not, It's likely some type of rat snake.
